Responsibilities
The Town Clerk's Office is responsible for:
- Providing clerical services and recordkeeping for all departments of the town.
- Selling licenses for New York State (conservation, dog and marriage).
- Collecting taxes.
- Preparing the town's bills for payment.
- Attending and recording minutes for Town Board meetings.
- Attending and recording minutes for the Planning, Zoning and Architectural Review Boards.
- Performing state-required services for the election process.
- Posting legal notices, filing and maintaining a book of local laws, maintaining personnel
files, responding to freedom of information requests, etc.

Services
The Town Clerk's Office offers a number of services to Town residents. The Clerk's office will:
- Collect town, county and Rush-Henrietta School District taxes.
- Sell Conservation Licenses.

Sell Marriage Licenses, provided the following is provided:
- Proof of Identification
- Divorce decree (if applicable)
- Licence fee of $40.00
- Sell Dog Licenses.
- Accept applications for zoning and planning hearings and provide information
on those matters.
- Accept applications for building permits and provide information on building
process when the inspector is not available.
- Provide information and answer questions on all departments when needed due to the
unavailability of the contact person for that department.
- Provide Notary services at no charge.
- Provide copying services for a fee.
- Direct inquiries for services outside the local jurisdiction.
- Maintain a loan cupboard for medical equipment.
