Positions Available



Openings on Planning, Zoning, Conservation and Board of Assessment Review can occur at any time.  If you are interested in serving on any of the boards, their meetings are scheduled as follows:  Zoning Board of Appeals – every 2nd Thursday of the month at 7:00 PM; Planning Board – every 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7:00 PM; and Conservation Board – every 1st Thursday of the month at 7:30 PM.  The Board of Assessment Review has training in early spring and a meeting in May.  All are held in the Town Hall meeting room unless otherwise specified.  If you are interested in serving on any of the above Boards, please send a letter of interest to Pamela Bucci, Town Clerk.  Your submissions will be kept on file and distributed to the Town Board for consideration when appropriate.  All letters of interest are kept for consideration for at least three years.

Town of Rush
Part-time Building Inspector, approximately 20 hours/week

Applicant must be certified or be eligible to be certified by New York State Codes Division. Must have the ability to read and interpret construction plans, the ability to understand site plans and have basic knowledge of building trades.  Person must be in good physical condition to navigate varied conditions on construction sites and have the ability to attend evening sessions of the Planning Board and the Zoning Board of Appeals. Basic math skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse customer base are a must.  Qualifications include a high school diploma, must be computer literate and have the ability to maintain records and prepare reports.  Applicant must have a NYS driver’s license which must be valid at all times during employment.  All applicants are to respond to Pamela J. Court Clerk/Cashier

Part time 10 to 12 hours per week; position Court Clerk/Cashier. This position involves assisting both Justice

Clerks preparing for court sessions, administrative tasks, record keeping, processing information and daily face to
face communications with the public.

  • Strong written, telephone and personal communication skills with the public and a variety of
  • Computer and internet skills
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to multi-task
  • The ability to manage and keep accurate records;
  • Work well with people and legal professionals and function as a team member;
  • Two Monday court sessions per month afternoon/early evening;
    Knowledge of Courtroom program is preferred (USC formerly SEI);
    Knowledge of DMVITSLED/E-Tickets is preferred;
  • Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and confidentially;
