There are many parks and walking trails in Rush and our neighboring towns. This list is not exhaustive, and we welcome your comments and suggestions.
100 Acre Park, a nature park on Route 251 bordering the Genesee River. Rush Recreation and Park Association (RushRPA) is the steward for the Town of Rush. For more information on events and how to support the development of this park, contact the Rush RPA

In our area there is Outlook Dog Park, Henrietta, 3850 E Henrietta Rd, Henrietta, NY 14467
Mendon Ponds is a 2500 acre park, is open all year. It is a county park located southeast of Rochester, New York within the suburban towns of Mendon and Pittsford. At over 2,500 acres, it is the largest park in Monroe County. It was designated a National Natural Landmark in 1967 in recognition of its unique glacial geology. Wikipedia
Mill Veterans Memorial Park, East Henrietta Road, The park was presented to the Town of Rush on April 2nd, 1948, two and a half years after the end of World War II, by the Rush Improvement Association. This group, “…was formed with the goal of acquiring the former mill site to create a park on both sides of Honeoye Creek.” (Mee 2014) The park was dedicated on May 31, 1964 “to all those who had served Rush in time of war.”
Rush Riverside Refuge, East River Road was formerly the BOCES 1 Rush Campus. There are 215 acres at the refuge. The land was transferred to the Town of Rush in 2010 and accepted by the Town Board to be used for park and recreation activities for residents and visitors. There are trails that are marked for walkers, with many birds and wildlife throughout the seasons. The park is open to the public from dawn to dusk. The refuge has also been the home to the New York Museum of Transportation and to the Monroe Couty Fair that holds their annual fair on the campus.
Stonybrook Park, is a 24 acre park located at 151 Stonybrook Road.
Tinker Nature Park is a 68 acre, handicap accessible park. It features a 1.2 mile walking/exercise trail, a 1/2 mile nature trail, and several museums on the property.
Town Hall Park and Pavilion There is a playground, and a basketball court. The Pavilion is available for rent. Rentals are managed by the Recreation Department.
