If you are scheduled for a court appointment, masks and social distancing are required.
(Normally Court Sessions Mondays at 5:00 PM or as otherwise scheduled
District.Attorney Night scheduled on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month at 5:00 PM. Defendants represented by private counsel or the public defender’s office.)
Proper attire in the courtroom is required
Please, No Cell Phones or Pagers in the Courtroom
No weapons of any kind are permitted in the Town Hall
About the Justice Court
Town Justices are elected to four year terms. They are “on-call” available to conduct arraignments on a 24 hour basis and 7 days a week basis.
Town and Village Courts are local courts with original jurisdiction over all criminal and traffic matters arising within their borders. They have jurisdiction over civil matters up to $3,000.00. Judges perform civil marriage ceremonies.
